Why this site exists

Published tire tests are excellent, but they are fragmented. ADAC, Auto Bild, auto motor und sport, TCS, Tyre Reviews and others each test a different field, in a different size, using their own scoring scale. A tire that wins one test can be mid-pack in another simply because the competition was tougher. Reading a single test tells you very little about how a tire will behave on your car.

TopTireReview Search normalises those published results so they can be compared honestly — and shows you the evidence behind every number.

How the Tire Lab Score is built

1. Each published test is treated as its own controlled experiment. Results are converted into a relative score against the best performer in that specific test, per discipline.
2. Reference and control tires used purely as benchmarks are excluded from the rankings.
3. Disciplines are weighted by real-world safety relevance — wet braking and wet handling carry more weight than dry lap time, and winter categories weight snow and ice.
4. Scores are aggregated across every test a tire has entered, so a strong result in a deep field counts for more than one in a weak field.
5. Rankings require recency and a minimum number of results before a tire is eligible for a Top 10 list.

Editorial principles

• Rankings are produced from published test data, never from brand relationships.
• No manufacturer pays for placement, and no ranking is ever edited on request.
• Where data is thin, we say so rather than filling gaps with opinion.
• Claims we cannot evidence from a published test do not appear on the site.
